Family visas allow eligible partners, parents, carers, and remaining relatives of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens to reunite and live in Australia.

About Family Migration

Family visas are designed to support family reunification in Australia by allowing eligible partners, parents, carers, and remaining relatives to join their family members.

These visas may be available to family members of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens, depending on the visa subclass and eligibility requirements.

Some family visas provide temporary stay first and later transition to permanent residency, while others provide a direct pathway to permanent residency.

Applicants must meet the relevant sponsorship, relationship, health, character, and visa-specific requirements before a visa can be granted.
